Odisha Sadbhavana Utsav, held on 10th March 2023 at Jaydev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, was organized by STHAPANA Charitable Trust (SCT) to honour Odisha’s heroes and freedom fighters and celebrate the heritage of Shree Jagannath’s land. The event opened with a torch-lighting ceremony led by esteemed defense veterans, social scientists, and eminent writers. A captivating sand animation by international sand artist Sri Sudam Pradhan paid homage to the region’s brave martyrs.

The prestigious Sampriti Samman was awarded to Dr. Bhagbanprakash, a respected social scientist and educationist, and former Lieutenant General Dr. Narayan Mohanty for their significant contributions to the nation. The Samrudhi Shree Samman recognized other eminent personalities from various fields for their societal impact. Distinguished guests included Sri Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Editor of Sambad and MLA, Khandapada; Brigadier Dr. L.C. Patnaik, former OPSC Chairperson; Dr. Sudipt K. Nanda, retired IAS and former Home Secretary of Gujarat; Dr. Nihar Ranjan Ray, WHO Odisha’s Sub Regional Team Leader; and Smt. Biswa Bandita Kar, Dean of Spiritual Science and Yoga at KIIT, Bhubaneswar. The event was presided over by Smt. Nibedita Nayak, Chairperson of SCT.

Following the inauguration, a panel discussion on ‘Role of Women in Rebuilding Society’ took place, moderated by Smt. Nibedita Nayak. The panel featured notable speakers such as Abha Mishra, State Head of UNDP; Smt. Sobha Patnaik, former principal of Army Public School in Delhi; Smt. Kalyani Naik, Chairperson of OSSWB; and Smt. Manashi Sundaray, Corporator of BMC. The discussion highlighted the transformative role of women in societal development and their contributions to shaping a stronger community.

This event not only paid homage to Odisha’s heritage and heroes but also celebrated the roles of women in fostering social progress and unity in Odisha.
